The Lokomat is an advanced rehabilitation device that combines a body-weight support system, a treadmill, and a computer-controlled exoskeleton. The exoskeleton moves the patient’s legs in a way that closely mimics a natural walking pattern, fully synchronized with the speed of the treadmill. (Explanation: the Lokomat is a well-known brand name for this type of robotic gait training system and is therefore not translated.)
The board of the foundation works closely together to ensure that this valuable rehabilitation training becomes accessible to as many people with mobility impairments as possible.
