Noordwijk aan Zee is all about “Living Statues” on Sunday, July 13, and Sunday, August 3. On those days, the 8th edition of the Living Statues Festival will take place in Noordwijk.
Have you ever seen a living statue? Or tried to be one yourself? It’s really hard to stand completely still for so long and not get distracted by your surroundings.
A living statue is both subtle and surprising, embodying humor, emotion, and expression. It captures the attention of passersby and leaves them standing in wonder. A living statue doesn’t just remain motionless—it engages in a dialogue with the audience through movement.
At various locations along the coast, about 30 living statues will perform: on the Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard and in the Hoofdstraat. They’ll showcase their talents and entertain the audience with their stunning acts.
There will also be several mobile artists demonstrating their craft. And along the route, various street musicians will showcase their musical skills.
Visitors can follow the route from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
