Diabetes Research Netherlands Foundation

Partner Activity: Stichting Diabetes Onderzoek Nederland (Diabetes Research Netherlands Foundation), short for stichting DON, was established in 2006 by Maarten de Gruyter with a clear goal: to cure type 1 diabetes. Altough Type 1 diabetes is treatable, the disease is not yet curable. The complications are far-reaching, from blindness and amputations to heart and kidney failure. Weirdly enough, more is invested in making patients’ daily lives easier, rather than in the search for a real solution: a complete cure.

Our Contribution: A special sugar-free pastry item is sold in several outlets to raise money for the DON Foundation.
